ABOUT OUR HELPLINES

The national telephone helpline 0844 477 9400 is open for calls from 9.30am to 5pm working days, answered mainly by a team of trained volunteers working in the special helpline area of our central offices in Richmond, Surrey. They have a lot of information available to them. We give information about benefits, listen to your story and give you information about Cruse locally where you live.

If you call and don't get through to us, please leave a message so that we are able to call back. There are sometimes more calls coming in than there are volunteers to answer them, so if you don't get through, do please try again.

Please note that the Cruse helpline will be open 9am-5pm throughout the holiday period but will be closed on December 26th (boxing day) and 27th (public holiday).

Local Cruse areas and branches are mainly staffed by volunteers, though some have a paid administrator who may often be part time. They will do their best to answer your call in good time. If there is an answerphone, please do leave your details and give the times for calling you back. Please click here to see a list of branches and contact information.

About our local services
Cruse areas and branches sometimes have waiting lists, but you will be put in touch with a bereavement support volunteer as soon as possible. Many local services also run friendship groups, which bereaved people find very helpful and supportive. The branch nearest to you will be able to tell you what is on offer.
